Top 6 Reasons Why We Love Puro Coffee

June 21, 2018

We're big coffee-lovers here at The Red Lion, and we know many of you are too. We take our coffee seriously, which is why we only serve Puro Coffee. Find out more about the reasons we love Puro...

Top 6 Reasons Why We Love Puro Coffee

1. They’re Fairtrade

Their coffee farmers receive a fair price for their beans and a little bit extra to invest in things like schools, reforestation and agricultural improvements.

2. They save rainforests: Money from the sale of Puro is returned into the purchase and protection of rainforest reserves in the countries their coffee is grown.

3. They help to fund social initiatives

connecting cause to countries integral to Puro, flows much deeper than social responsibility, for us it is about social connectivity.

4. They offset their CO2 emmissions

Their motto is ‘Warming hearts… not our planet’. They offset all CO2 emissions generated from Puro coffee cultivation, milling, ocean shipping and roasting by reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD). REDD includes forest restoration and sustainable management of forests, and enhancement of forest carbon stocks. This benefits biodiversity, conservation and communities. The focus of REDD is not on planting trees where forests once stood, but on protecting standing forests from deforestation and degradation. Forests that would otherwise be releasing stored carbon as CO2 into the atmosphere.
